Littler seemed to experience discomfort during the match, feeling his elbow.

And some believe he was the latest victim of the infamous Ally Pally wasp.

After his win, he said: "Was I stung by a wasp? I don’t know.

"I saw it flying around. I had to focus and get over the line.";

Littler would be the latest in a long line of stars to be bothered by the bug at Ally Pally.

Gary Anderson was stalked by a wasp back in 2018.

While another perched on David Cameron's shoulder during a match last year.

Ross Smith was stung three times by a wasp earlier in this year's tournament.

And Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode was left ducking for cover after being chased just two days later.

Aside from his potential brush with the Ally Pally wasp, Littler was delighted with his latest day's work.

He said: "Wow. I am in the semi-finals on my debut. I am glad to get here. My performances have been good. It went well up there.

“If I keep it up, I have a good chance of winning. Now I am dreaming, I am only two games away. I am definitely thinking about the title.

“I just wanted to get over the line. I am gutted for Chris Dobey, who lost to Rob Cross.

“My board management is probably one of the best. I know what to go for and what to settle on.

“Rob was unbelievable on debut, so am I, I am looking forward to playing him.
