MELISSA HOSKINS tragically passed away at the end of 2023.

The Australian athlete and Olympic cyclist was survived by her two young children whom she shared with her husband Rohan Dennis.

Who was Olympic cyclist Melissa Hoskins?

Melissa Hoskins was an Australian track and road racing cyclist.

She was born on February 24, 1991, and died on December 31, 2023.

Hoskins grew up in Kalamunda, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Sports Science from Perth's Murdoch University before pursuing her career as a professional cyclist.

Hoskins married fellow Australian cyclist Rohan Dennis in February 2018 after becoming engaged the year before.

The couple welcomed a son at the end of 2018 and went on to have a daughter together.

Hoskins retired from professional cycling in 2017.

Throughout her career, she enjoyed many successes, including competing in the Olympics and winning gold at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

At the latter event, Hoskins and her team broke the world record which had been previously set by the UK in 2013 by almost three seconds.

What happened to Melissa Hoskins?

Hoskins died after allegedly being run her over by a car driven by her husband.

Dennis was arrested after the alleged collision and was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and endangering life. 

Hoskins was struck by a vehicle on a residential street in the inner northern suburb of Medindie, South Australia, at around 8pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
