Maddison, 27, had a pop back at Arsenal fans

Maddison is a huge darts fan and was among a horde of celebrities - including Brooklyn Beckham and Derek Chisora - to attend last night.

As the action unfolded Arsenal fans in the venue, who have seen their team lose twice in a row, began chanting about Spurs.

They sang: "Tottenham get battered everywhere they go."

Injured ace Maddison has watched his team-mates win four of their last five to close the gap with Arsenal to just one point.

And he couldn't resist having a pop back at obsessed Gooners in the crowd, holding up a sign reading: "North London is white, COYS."

Spurs fans adored the scene, with one responding: "Love hearing the Tottenham get battered song at the darts. Rent free in your heads. How annoyed you must get every time we win. Love it."

While a second wrote: "Madders responding to chants of 'Tottenham get battered' at the darts this evening! Fully COYS."

A third gushed: "Maddison is that guy."

And another added: "Just when you thought you couldn't love James Maddison anymore."

According to the Star, Ally Pally staff confiscated the Spurs star's sign.

Maddison, who has celebrated goals this season by miming throwing a dart, welcomed Littler to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.

The 16-year-old sat in the former Leicester ace's box to watch Spurs' 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

It was agony for the youngster last night as he fell 7-4 to an inspired Humphries.

After his defeat, Littler reflected: "I have gained a lot of experience. A lot of people know me now, they look up to me, I am happy.

"I am happy with getting to the final. It has been a rollercoaster."

Maddison, meanwhile, is gradually stepping his recovery from an ankle injury.

The £40million star has not played since Spurs' clash with Chelsea in early November.

It's believed he could return to action later this month.

Like Maddison, fellow darts-lover Micky van de Ven has also not played since that clash with Chelsea, but like his team-mate is nearing a return.
