  • Chelsea hammer Preston

It was not as straight forward as the result showed for Chelsea, as the game went into half-time goalless, with the hosts missing a few chances.

However, their fortune changed in the second half, after Armando Broja opened the scoring with a header inside the box.

The floodgates opened after that, and Thiago Silva doubled the scoring with a header from a corner, assisted by star boy Cole Palmer.

Sterling then made it three, with a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque free-kick which was struck perfectly into the top left corner.

Enzo Fernandez added the fourth with a tap in that was given onside only after a lengthy VAR review.

  • Man of the match

Chelsea's man of the match award today for us goes to Raheem Sterling.

He was relentless in causing problems for the opposition defence, and created numerous chances, particularly in the second half once Preston started to tire.
