  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    60. It's been a nightmare couple of minutes for Bukayo Saka!

Kai Havertz's cross from the left is deflected up and over Alisson, once against taking the goalkeeper out of the equation.

It falls for Saka at the far post, and all he has to do is lift it back into the centre for the unmarked Odegaard - but he gets it all wrong, instead miscueing his cross out for a goalkick.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool - Liverpool double substitution

    59. A double switch for the visitors.

Jurgen Klopp introduces Diogo Jota and Ryan Gravenberch for Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    58. Odegaard! Havertz! Saka! Over!

Arsenal work the free-kick brilliantly with the German forward running behind a two-man wall, and then clips over a cross that takes Alisson out of the game.

Gabriel and Saka are arriving, but when the former is unable to connect with a header, the latter is forced into an acrobatic twist of a volley over the crossbar.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    56. It's getting really tasty out there.

Saliba's challenge on Nunez inside the area is brilliant.

Mac Allister's challenge on Jorginho on halfway is clumsy.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    54. Nunez has become a central figure in the contest.

He moves over to the left to take possession, drops a shoulder to come back inside and unleashes a rocket towards the far post.

Ramsdale stands rooted to the spot, expecting the top corner of his net to rustle, but instead the balls whizzes off towards the fans behind the goal.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    53. The Diaz-Nunez combination comes to the fore again.

The Uruguayan can't make enough room to let fly, but he manages to tee up Jones, who swivels a shot well over.

Liverpool have come out a different team in the second half.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    52. Better from Liverpool.

First, Gomez goes close to his first goal for the club in what is his 199th appearance, and then Diaz almost picks out the run of Nunez with a quick centre.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    50. White turns quarter-back for Arsenal, arrowing a deep pass from the back through to Saka.

The forward has the pace to get ahead of Gomez, but huge credit to the defender for sticking to the task and holding the Arsenal man up enough to ensure his eventual shot does not have enough power to test Alisson.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    48. Havertz and Konate tussle on halfway, but referee Brooks looks nonplussed as both players writhe around on the turf.

The game continues and the pair get sheepishly back to their feet.

  • Kick-off - Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    46. Martin Odegaard restarts the action at the Emirates with Arsenal and Liverpool locked together, 45 minutes away from the replay that neither club want.

There are no changes to report as of yet, but expect to see some soon if we remain at deadlock.

  • First half facts and figures

Some pretty even numbers apart from the shot counts.

  • Half-time - Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

John Brooks calls time on an exhilarating first half of football.

Loads of excitement. Loads of chances. But somehow no goals.

Mikel Arteta will head to the dressing delighted with how his team have played, but absolutely dumbfounded as to how they haven't scored.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    45. As the clock strikes 45 minutes, Trent Alexander-Arnold unleashes a rocket on the run that crashes against the Arsenal crossbar!

It was a fabulous effort from the Liverpool captain, who affords himself a wry smile as he returns to defence.

The goal at that end of the Emirates Stadium is going to be shaking all the way through the half-time break.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    43. Another attempt from Havertz, another passed up.

Admittedly, this one is much trickier with the German forced wide on to his left foot, but it's a chance a proper striker would have thrived on.

How this Arsenal team could do with one of those...

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    41. There's a momentary break in play as Quansah receives some treatment after rolling his ankle while in control of the football.

Thankfully, the young defender is deemed fit enough to continue.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    39. How has Havertz missed?!

How have Arsenal still not scored?!

What is the purpose of our existence?!

Even the greatest minds on earth are unable to answer these toughest of questions.

The first one in particular is a brain boggler with the German somehow heading Saka's corner wide from five yards out.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    38. Alisson tips over from White!

After the home side failed to find a way through a packed Liverpool defence, the Arsenal defender arrived with some pure Peter Kay-'Ave it aggression, letting rip from the edge of the box.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    36. Less than ten minutes to the break, and it's starting to get a little feisty out there. Wonderful!

Who says the FA Cup is dying?

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    34. Liverpool pack the penalty area for the subsequent free-kick, but Elliott's inswinger has so much curl on it that it evades the crowd, Aaron Ramsdale's outstretched arm and the crossbar.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    32. A first real glimpse of Curtis Jones' talent.

The midfielder wins the ball back from Ben White by the defender's corner flag, and then makes him look extra foolish by flicking it back around him.

White has no answer other than to shamelessly plant his arm in the Liverpool man's chest and push him to the ground.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    30. Another Arsenal chance goes begging.

Brilliant pressing from Rice dispossesses Mac Allister, and that presents Odegaard with the opportunity to find Havertz on the edge of the area with a lovely reverse pass.

The German should take the shot on first time - or, at the very least, second time.

But fourth time of asking it is, by which point Liverpool have a crowd of defenders back to close the forward down.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    28. It's been a great game so far despite still being goalless.

Perhaps these clubs should play in white and purple all the time.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    26. The Premier League leaders are definitely growing into this third round tie, and the Gunners have lost a little of their early attacking impetus.

    Or so I thought.

Within seconds of typing the above garbage, a brilliant flowing move featuring Saka, Jorginho and Nelson ends with the England star pulling a shot straight at Alisson.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    24. Up the other end, Nelson goes down in the box under pressure from Alexander-Arnold.

As the home fans scream for a spotkick, John Brooks shows he is neither interested in awarding a penalty or punishing the player for simulation.

Both of which are the right decision.

  • Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    22. A half-chance for Liverpool!

Elliott's delicious outswinging corner is met cleanly by Nunez, but his glancing header drops wide of the far post.
