Ian Wright and Piers Morgan lead desperate Arsenal fans’ transfer pleas as Gunners miss huge chances in Liverpool loss
IAN WRIGHT and Piers Morgan claim Arsenal need a “killer” up front after a string of costly misses in a 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
The “frustrating” Gunners crashed out of the FA Cup to a late own goal from Jakub Kiwior and Luis Diaz‘s cool breakaway finish in stoppage-time.
Sun columnist Morgan posted: “Best football Arsenal have played all season but same old problem – no striker who knows how to score goals. Incredibly frustrating.”
Wrighty also went on X to say: “We need a killer.”
And fellow Gunners’ legend Martin Keown said after a third straight defeat: “If ever a game underlined the deficiencies in front of goal from Arsenal that was it.
“The approach play was excellent but I was surprised Kai Havertz wasn’t taken off early on.
“”Arsenal had so many chances… It felt as though you could have been there until midnight and Arsenal wouldn’t have scored.”
One fan responded by saying: “We need a Drogba or another Ian Wright.
Several replied with jokes like: “GET YOUR BOOTS ON IAN!!!!!” and another simply said: “Spend”.
One supporter fumed: “It’s just the same old story. Make chances for fun, miss them for fun.”

And as Morgan digested Arsenal’s third-round exit at a stunned Emirates he went into detail with his transfer demands for this month.
The TalkTV presenter wrote: “We didn’t need a new goalkeeper, and we definitely didn’t need Havertz for £67m. We needed a proper striker. This awful run is on you.
“@m8arteta – stop being so stubborn and sign someone who can score goals, or our whole season will be over very soon.”
Most Gunners’ fans online seemed to agree.
One poster blamed the “lack of a striker who can consistently find the back of the net”.
And some fans called for boss Arteta to step up reported interest in Brentford forward Ivan Toney.
