Ronnie O’Sullivan hangs head in disbelief after unbelievable foul as fans say ‘what the hell is he playing at’

RONNIE O'SULLIVAN left snooker fans utterly dumbfounded after a remarkable blunder at the Masters.

Seven-time champion O'Sullivan, 48, was locked level at 3-3 with Barry Hawkins as they played out a messy seventh frame in a best-of-11 contest.

The pair traded misses as they struggled to find their best form in front of a perplexed Alexandra Palace crowd.

But the most incredible moment of the frame occurred when O'Sullivan came to the table and attempted to pot the pink.

Instead, he clipped the cue ball at the wrong angle and missed the pink altogether, handing Hawkins four points for a foul.

Much like those watching on, O'Sullivan could not believe the error as he bowed his head over the snooker table in disbelief.

Some costly misses from Hawkins did allow O'Sullivan back into the frame - which The Rocket won before he sealed a 6-3 victory.

But the shock foul remained the talking point as fans took to social media to react to the surprising mistake from one of the sport's greatest ever players.

One said: "What the hell is O’Sullivan playing at?"

While another added: "Ronnie O’Sullivan just struck the ball like I do 🤣."

A third replied: "Ronnie O'Sullivan has just miscued. It could be the end of days."

O'Sullivan, who will now face Shaun Murphy or Jack Lisowski in the semi-finals, is seeking a record-extending eighth Masters title.

He has not claimed the Ally Pally crown since 2017 when he clinched a third title in four years.
