But Hibs fans may be caught by surprise when doing their own bit of digging into one player Nick Montgomery has his eye on.

The Easter Road gaffer is interested in former Leeds United player Adryan Oliveira Tavares and the Brazilian has jetted out to Dubai with the team for their warm winter training camp.

The 29-year-old has been without a club since leaving Italian side Brescia last year and he is now bidding to kickstart his career in Scotland.

But while the midfielder arrives with some pedigree having played for the likes of Leeds, Nantes and Flamengo in the past; he also comes with a bizarre reputation.

Following successful loan spells in Italy, France and England while contracted to Flamengo, Adryan sealed his permanent move to Europe in 2017.

But that's where his career took a plunge as the midfielder joined Sio and the rest is history.

That's despite an impressive start in Switzerland, where he scored 14 goals in 28 matches.

Adryan then missed 26 games through injury, leaving the club's owner furious with the player.

He shined a spotlight on the midfielder and branded his lifestyle "not appropriate" for an athlete in a scathing blast.

It was then revealed that the player had actually missed a game against Zurich so he could travel to France and compete in a poker tournament, where he won €17,000 and posted a picture of his winnings on social media.

Adryan was injured but rules within the club state that anyone ineligible to play in a match must still be in attendance at the stadium, unless given permission otherwise.

Barthelemy Constantin, who is the owner's son, said at the time: "Our team rules are clear. Injured or suspended players must be with the team for all home matches unless they receive extra permission.

"Adryan did not request a permit and therefore had to be in the stadium."

Adryan was then axed by the Swiss club after allegedly telling chiefs his dream outside of football would be to become a drag queen.

He even posted pictures of himself wearing a dress while celebrating the annual carnival in Brazil.

Sion owner Constantin said: "Adryan, he came to me and said he wanted to break up. I let him go. What should I say to someone who dresses in women's clothes?"
