Malo Gusto labelled a ‘menace’ by Chelsea fans as Instagram post backfires after Fulham win
Right-back didn't get the reaction he'd hoped for from the Stamford Bridge faithful
MALO GUSTO has been slammed by Chelsea fans for his “disrespectful” Instagram post after beating Fulham.
The right-back, 20, started his side’s 1-0 derby win at Stamford Bridge.
And Gusto put in another assured performance following a £30million move from Lyon last year.
However, some Blues fans were left fuming with his post-match antics.
Gusto uploaded a fearsome Instagram post showing him celebrating Chelsea’s latest victory.
Yet one of the pictures showed him standing over Fulham’s Willian as the winger clutched his ankle following a strong challenge.
Willian, 35, won two Premier League titles during a seven-year stay at Chelsea.
And he was left in agony after going down under a crunching challenge from Gusto today.
Some fans found the Frenchman’s post “disrespectful” to former Blue Willian.
While others were concerned that Gusto was celebrating his brutal tackle — which could have resulted in a red card on another day.

One fan said: “Has he got the wrong impression of Chelsea fans’ opinion of Willian? Great servant.
“Should not be boasting about a red card-worthy ankle-breaking challenge on him. Could have cost us the game.”
Another declared: “That’s not a flex, he needs to be careful with those tackles, he almost cost the team.”
One noted: “Don’t like disrespecting Willian, showed nothing but love for Chelsea.”
Another added: “Why would he do Willian like that?”
And another fan commented: “No way Malo Gusto posted that tackle he did against Willian. Man is a menace”
Fulham boss Marco Silva was adamant that Gusto should have been sent off.
He raged: “It’s a clear red card in that situation.
“It’s difficult for Anthony Taylor to see if it’s red card or not – he decided yellow card and we have to be fair for him because in the moment it’s really quick for him to see that it was such a dangerous tackle from Malo Gusto.
“But after that has to come the decision from the VAR to overturn the decision.
“So far in the Premier League in ten moments, nine are red card and this afternoon wasn’t – it was a mistake from the VAR.
If I was in Silva’s place, I want to tell you it was a red card. I understand.
Mauricio Pochettino
“I don’t want to say what the fourth official said to me but he has the same opinion as myself.
“At 35, 36 minutes it would have had a huge impact on the game and the game is going to be completely different.”
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino had sympathy for Silva but was pleased with his team’s third Premier League win in a row.
Pochettino said: “If I was in his place, I want to tell you it was a red card. I understand. Sometimes it’s for you, sometimes it’s against, and in this type of situation, the view of the referee is different.
“It was good for us. We needed the three points.
“Three games in a row in the Premier League, four at Stamford Bridge, that’s an important thing for the team in the way we are building this process to feel the confidence, the trust and even accepting the criticism.”
Gusto has made 19 appearances since joining Chelsea in the summer.
His move from Lyon was actually agreed in last year’s January window.
But the Blues agreed to let him see out the remainder of the campaign with his boyhood club.
Gusto has seen more action at Chelsea than he probably imagined, with Reece James suffering more injury setbacks.
He has also been deployed as a left-back at times.
And Gusto’s impressive performances under Pochettino resulted in his first senior France cap in October.
