RASH TO RETURN?

Will Marcus Rashford play for Man Utd against Wolves?

Could the 26-year-old be punished further by Erik ten Hag?

MARCUS RASHFORD was left out of the Manchester United squad for their FA Cup fourth round triumph away at Newport County on Sunday.

This was due to disciplinary reasons after the England forward phoned in sick to training following a boozy trip to Belfast last week.

He is believed to have been in Northern Ireland to see his friend and former academy team-mate Ro-Shaun Williams, who is currently playing for Larne FC.

Rashford and his brother Dwaine Maynard spoke with manager Erik ten Hag at Carrington on Monday to discuss the situation.

The Dutchman has previously warned the forward for partying after the Manchester Derby defeat in October.

Man Utd released the following statement concerning the situation on Monday: “Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions.

“This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.”

With the matter closed, Rashford is available for selection for Man Utd’s Premier League clash away at Wolves on Thursday night.

Boss Ten Hag said after Sunday’s win in Newport: “He reported ill. The rest is an internal matter and I will deal with that.”

The forward scored in his last top-flight outing during the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham on January 14th.

Rashford has four goals in 26 appearances in all competitions this season.
