Rob Cross 3-1 Luke Humphries
Terrific hold from Rob Cross!
Humphries not happy about a bit of breeziness up on the stage.
He's throwing a bit of a huff - and throwing not great at the board.
He leaves 49 after a 140 though to put Cross' 40 under pressure.
Cross goes 20, 10 and then eventually hits double 5 for the hold.
Rob Cross 2-1 Luke Humphries
ANOTHER BREAK!
Rob Cross with a chance to break leaving 70. He somehow only manages to throw 22....
That leaves 48 and Humphries needs 76 to hold. But he misses one at double 8 and one wild one at double 4!
Cross is fortunate with his last dart of the next visit to deflect in the D16 bed off a flight in a marker he'd set.
Rob Cross 1-1 Luke Humphries
BREAK BACK!
A terrific 149 set-up from Humphries to leave 32. Really good stuff.
Cross puts pressure on it getting it down to 56.
But Humphries needs just one go at D16 and we're back level.
Rob Cross 1-0 Luke Humphries
BREAK OF THROW!
41, 60, 57. That's the first three visits of Luke Humphries here.
And by the way, it didn't get any better after that either.
Cross down to 64 and takes it out in two darts for the break.
Here we go....
And Luke Humphries will throw first.
Humphries arrives
He gives Rob Cross a huge hug and it wasn't too bad a reception for Humphries.
He just gets the crowd going and there's one or two boos.
How will that quarter final bye affect the world number one?
Another final...?
Will it be an all-Luke final once again?
Let's find out as Luke Humphries - who has had to wait until 9.30pm for his first throw at the board here - takes on Rob Cross who was good against Michael van Gerwen.
Cross' walk-on begins and he looks calm and composed sharing a joke on stage.
One-sided
Michael Smith averaged just over 97 there and could barely get a shot at a double.
Littler's 110.10 average felt like it was more as he battered the big trebles consistently and with 144 and 124 checkouts, he was unstoppable there.
I thought my dad's 9&8 loss at the golf tonight would be the biggest trouncing of the day in Scotland.
That semi final just trumps it. So, so good from the teenager.
Michael Smith 1-6 Luke Littler
Shock!! Littler MISSES double 20!
Luckily, D10 is his favourite and he takes it with dart number two.
What a phenomenal match from Littler and he destroys Michael Smith. In truth, not many would be able to live with that sort of form.
Amazing.
Michael Smith 1-5 Luke Littler
He leaves 40, Littler. Smith is back on 113.
He'll have the chance to wrap this up in rapid time.
Michael Smith 1-5 Luke Littler
BREAK OF THROW!!
And Smith gives him a fist pump. He takes out 105 with 25, tops, tops.
No other words needed to be honest. He's absolutely ripping this up.
Michael Smith 1-4 Luke Littler
124 checkout.
The boy's a genius. Ridiculous. The pair traded 180s in that leg and on 124 he takes it out with three darts.
Staggering. 111.81 average at present!
Michael Smith 1-3 Luke Littler
BREAK OF THROW!
Littler absolutely flying. Those double troubles from earlier well and truly gone.
On 87 and Smith just behind, he leaves himself on double seven with a skewed set-up. Not to worry though, he bangs in the D7 for a 3-1 lead.
Michael Smith 1-2 Luke Littler
Smashing from Littler. Absolutely smashing.
His 144 under not much pressure but Smith leaves the big fish.
So he feels he must take it out. T20, T20 and double 12 to check out the 144. World class.
Michael Smith 1-1 Luke Littler
Excellent from Smith to level the match!
Littler puts big pressure on his 84 left when hitting a 171 to leave a two-dart combo.
Smith needs just two darts himself, taking out D16 to hold.
Michael Smith 0-1 Luke Littler
Simple hold there.
Littler holds in 16 darts with Smith well back on 144.
No drama to report.
Ready to go
And it'll be Littler to throw first.
Smith has won the last three matches when they've faced - and four of the last five!
Here they come
The two players get a decent reception actually.
That despite Smith cupping his ears to the crowd after his win and Littler shushing them!
It shows the power of a couple of good walk-on songs.
Up first
Michael Smith is in desperate need of these points here.
With Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen not able to collect any more, this could be a big night for Smith.
What a week it'd be after a few days in Vegas too!
Here's how they bet with BetMGM:
- Smith 17/10
- Littler 4/9
Time for the semi
Here's the line-up in tonight's last four:
- Michael Smith vs Luke Littler
- Rob Cross vs Luke Humphries
What a match
Michael van Gerwen will be pulling his hair out (of his arms) wondering how he didn't win that!
Several missed bullseyes for the match and an incredible 108.33 average - yet he loses in a final leg decider.
Rob Cross has his number at the minute. Three successive wins for Voltage in this match-up.
He'll play Luke Humphries in the second semi.
Michael van Gerwen 5-6 Rob Cross
Just single 8 for Cross to leave double 4.
He's then wide with his second dart. The pressure mounts.
And he HITS DOUBLE 4!
For the third time in a row, Cross has beaten Mighty Michael van Gerwen!
Michael van Gerwen 5-5 Rob Cross
WOW!
MVG on 167 hits T20, T19 and again misses bullseye by a WHISKER!!
Cross with a chance again to wrap up this match.
Michael van Gerwen 5-5 Rob Cross
Van Gerwen only on 167 with Cross needing 44!
Voltage up next and has two match darts at D16. He MISSES BOTH!!
Michael van Gerwen 5-5 Rob Cross
After nine darts:
- Cross 184
- MVG 215
And MVG averaging almost 110!!
