The Duke of Sussex surprised fans just hours after jetting back from the UK

PRINCE Harry left football fans stunned after making a surprise appearance at the 2024 NFL Honors.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, appeared on stage in Las Vegas to present the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, just hours after jetting back from London.

Receiving the gong, Pittsburgh Steelers DE Cameron Heyward said, "Classic. ‘Prince freakin’ Harry. I’m in shock. That’s Prince Harry."

The surprise appearance came just hours after Harry spent 26 hours visiting King Charles on Tuesday following his father's cancer diagnosis.

The 2024 NFL Honors see players and coaches awarded for their achievements during the 2023-2024 season.

The Walter Payton Man of Year Award is the league's highest honor and acknowledges a player for his outstanding community service off the field, as well as his outstanding play on it.

    "How did you do that?" Adams shouted while Gronk was left with his jaw dropped.

    Gronk was so impressed that he asked for Oz to do a trick on him next.

    Gronk told Kay Adams all about his partying and how much he has been drinking and it was getting to his head.

    So when Oz the Mentalist appeared on the show, Gronk felt it was perfect for him.

    "I need a mentalist in my life," Gronk said.

    "To fix my brain."

    Before the playoffs started, a countrywide panel of 50 journalists who cover the league regularly cast their votes to determine the victors, according to .

    The used by the AP was in use for the second year, per the outlet.

    For MVP, the voters selected the top five, and for all other categories, the top three. First-place votes counted for 10 points toward MVP. The points awarded for placing second through fifth were 5, 3, 2, and 1.

    For every other prize, five points were awarded for first place, three for second, and one for third.

    In his opening speech, comedian and emcee Keegan-Michael Key targeted Taylor Swift, backup quarterbacks, and Jerry Jones.

    “Who’d have thought we’d see a year where Taylor Swift went to more playoff games than Bill Belichick?” he asked.

    In another joke, he took a swipe at the Panthers.

    “The only people further from the Super Bowl are the Carolina Panthers,” Key said.

    The AP Comeback Player of the Year is Joe Flacco, who stepped off the sofa and guided the Cleveland Browns to the postseason.

    Flacco defeated quarterback Baker Mayfield of the Buccaneers and safety Damar Hamlin of the Bills. With 151 points, he finished with 13 first-place votes, 26 second-place votes, and 8 third-place votes.

    When Cleveland contacted Flacco in November, the 39-year-old former Super Bowl MVP was at home in with his family. He threw for over 300 yards and 13 touchdowns in four consecutive games, going 4-1 in his five starts.

    “To welcome a new guy is not the easiest thing,” Flacco said. “Thank you to the organization for giving me the opportunity to do what I love to do, play football.”

    Heyward, 34, received recognition for his contributions to The Heyward House, which he established in 2015.

    The group assists children who require additional support from a variety of backgrounds.

    The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex was the presenter of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award to Pittsburgh Steelers player Cameron Heyward at the glittering event in Las Vegas.

    The defensive lineman was even more taken aback to see Harry up there alongside Heyward, even though Heyward won the night's greatest accolade.

    "That’s freaking Harry,” Heyward said after receiving his award. “Man, I’m in shock. That’s Prince Harry.”

    Ahead of receiving tonight’s huge prize, Cameron Heyward spoke to  about what winning the Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award would mean to him.

    “One, I think it would cement the legacy we have, not only myself, but for the Heyward House and the work we’re doing with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Heyward said.

    “But I also think it would allow us to continue to do great work in the community.

    “Continue to keep giving back to young men and young women that need a chance to succeed. My goal is to continue to keep giving back.

    “I know that Walter Payton Man of the Year Award is nominated for so many guys who are deserving, but I think the real thing about it is the man he was and the legacy he set that I think we’re all just trying to create a legacy and live that out.”

    Visibly emotional, Stroud and Anderson dapped each other up three times in a beautiful backstage moment caught by CBS cameras.

    And NFL fans joined in the celebrations on social media.

    "To think this is only the BEGINNING," one wrote.

    "That’s sick. Good for the Texans, they got a bright future," another added.

    "Much respect!!" a third said.

    "That triple dap is immaculate," one wrote.

    The Duke attended last night's ceremony as he dished out the award for 'Man Of The Year'.

    Harry joked that Americans "stole rugby from us and made it your own".

    He added: "Instead of passing it backwards, just pass it forwards.

    "Why not wear pads and a helmet?

    "Of course, have an offence and defence - that makes sense.

    "And why not have a breather every 15 seconds?

    "And you know what? Instead of a 10-month season, let's just make it 18 weeks. Genius.

    "All kidding aside, what you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable.

    "You are role models for millions in the way you carry yourselves and the way you give back."
