Kylian Mbappe would watch every match of surprise Premier League club with PSG team-mate
Lionel Messi was less than impressed by the Premier League stragglers
KYLIAN MBAPPE was glued to the Premier League relegation scrap back in 2022.
The superstar Frenchman would regularly sit down and watch Everton as they fought to stay afloat during the 2021/22 season.
Mbappe would watch on with his then PSG teammate Idrissa Gana Gueye, who never lost his love for the Toffees after leaving for Paris in 2019.
Now back in the blue half of Merseyside, Gueye has revealed he used to keep a keen eye on Everton while playing for European giants PSG and Mbappe would watch on with him.
The 34-year-old also explained that Julian Draxler was often watching Everton with him too, but wasn’t impressed by their style of play.
Gueye told : “It was difficult in the last year, we keep supporting, we believed.
“I remember [Julian] Draxler every time we lose, he would go ‘you see your team, they are not good!’
“And I would say, ‘We will survive’ so the day we survived against Crystal Palace he said ‘you were lucky’ and I said ‘I told you’.
“I told him to come to Everton but he hasn’t listened!
“Mbappe, yeah he would watch, he liked to watch every game.”

Gueye would mostly watch the games on his phone in the team hotel before matches for the Parisiens.
And although the Senegalese international was able to get Mbappe wrapped up in the entertainment, Lionel Messi wasn’t convinced by the Toffees’ performances.
Gueye explained: “[Lionel] Messi, no. It was difficult for me because we were losing a lot and he would say, ‘Bro come on you see your team is losing and playing like this?’ but it was funny.”
Perhaps Mbappe’s interest in Everton was born out of a love for the Premier League with the World Cup winner reportedly open to a switch to the English top flight.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, but look likely to miss out to Real Madrid instead.
However that hasn’t stopped Gunners boss Mikel Arteta from making sure his team are part of the conversation when it comes to signing the star who has decided to leave PSG at the end of the season.
He said: “When there is a player of that calibre we always have to be in the conversation.
“But as you said, it looks in a different way. That is what I will say.”
