A RISING football star almost scored a wondergoal but was instead left with a golf ball-sized lump on his forehead.
Shion Homma came close to a brilliant solo goal as he featured for Club Brugge's youth team Club NXT against SK Beveren.
The winger eased past his marker with a clever stepover and a shimmy that gave him a shooting chance.
The goalkeeper closed down the angle but Homma brilliantly dinked the ball over him and his strike appeared destined for the net.
But as Homma kept his eye on the ball to see if he scored he accidentally ran into the goal stanchion.
The painful collision floored the Japanese prodigy and left him with a massive bruise on his forehead.

Homma immediately received treatment as a physio offered him an ice pack.
Fortunately he did not suffer a serious injury and the 23-year-old was able to see the funny side as he smiled despite the pain.
But unfortunately for Homma his shot was actually turned in by Beveren defender Jenthe Mertens, so an own goal was awarded.
Some fans were shocked by the incident with one reacting saying: "Oh poor boy 😭"
