Antony has scored and assisted just once in 25 games this term.

And teen sensation Alejandro Garnacho has blasted on to the scene, securing one of the wide positions for himself.

Ten Hag has warned that youngsters Amad Diallo and Omari Forson could go above Antony in the pecking order.

He said ahead of United's clash against Fulham on Saturday: "He has to prove a point, that he will do. And he has big potential.

"He hasn't shown it lately, but I know what his talent is, and it's about proving his talent, and it's about him"

"And, yeah, he will probably get his opportunities, right? But, yeah, I think that was always the idea.

"You have competition, and now he has to show himself on the training pitch, but also others because we have opportunities there.

"With Amad Diallo returning from an injury, he's doing well in the training. Omari Forson is doing well.

"So we have options to fill in those positions. And it's not set that Marcus Rashford has to play as a centre forward."

For Antony, this threatens his spot in the Dutchman's squad after having been a regular starter in the last campaign.

This season most of his appearances have been from the bench and his last start was back in December.

His only memorable effort in the squad this term was against League Two side Newport County in the FA Cup.

Forson, 19, is emerging as a successful young talent in United's academy and made his debut in United's 4-3 win against Wolves providing an assist for Kobbie Mainoo.

While Diallo, 21, is now returning from a knee injury and is set to be a competitor for the winger spot.
