Hull City transfer news: Allan McGregor is set to join Championship Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season

Neil Warnock is looking to strengthen as he fights to keep Bluebirds away from relegation zone

CARDIFF are set to sign Hull stopper Allan McGregor on loan until the end of the season.

The Bluebirds have struggled to find a man to replace David Marshall after losing him to the Tigers.

And his fellow Scottish international - who has not played this season - will be brought in short term.

Former No1 Ben Amos was dropped by boss Neil Warnock with Brian Murphy taking voer.

But the veteran manager wants another recruitment as he bids to keep Cardiff in the Championship.

The Bluebirds sit 18th in the table following a dramatic 3-2 win at rivals Bristol City.

McGregor, 34, is behind Eldin Jakupovic and Marshall in Hull's pecking order.

The former Rangers and Besiktas keeper has not been named in a matchday squad by either Mike Phelan or new Tigers boss Marco Silva.

He joined Hull for £1.5million in 2013 and has made 103 appearances for the club.

McGregor was first-choice last season as Phelan led his side into the top flight.

He joins Cardiff with Warnock's outfit six points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand.
