Luke Littler’s darts journey reaches new high with The Nuke, 17, set to headline epic night in New York

Six Ally Pally winners will take part

LUKE LITTLER is going transatlantic after being confirmed for big darts in the Big Apple.

The 17-year-old will be one of eight PDC representatives to compete at the US Darts Masters in New York on May 31 and June 1.

Less than six months after he sensationally reached the Ally Pally World Championship final, the Warrington ace will be the headline name in the darts competition.

The action will be held at The Theater at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Teenage trailblazer Littler has already appeared at two World Series of Darts events.

The Nuke won the first in Bahrain, which also saw a wonderful nine-dart finish in his opening match.

He then he lost to Michael van Gerwen in the final of the Dutch Masters in Den Bosch.

The 16-player field in the US will include world champion and world No1 Luke Humphries.

Van Gerwen and Michael Smith, who are both former winners of the US Darts Masters crown, will also feature.

Three other former world champions – Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross – will also take part with Nathan Aspinall completing the European line-up.

Canadian Matt Campbell – who lost to Littler in the third round of the Worlds last Christmas – heads up the eight-man North American contingent.

Jules van Dongen, Danny Lauby, Stowe Buntz and yet to be decided qualifiers will be also be involved.

Littler takes to the oche in night seven of the Premier League on Thursday, with this week’s event coming from Nottingham.
