Carter warning for O'Sullivan
Ali Carter has fired a warning to Ronnie O'Sullivan that he is a "top player" and could wreck the Rocket's plans.
He told the : "When I played at the Masters back in January, I was telling myself I was going to win that event. Rather than telling yourself, you're going to lose or someone is going to beat you, why not tell yourself you are going to win it? I played really great stuff all week.
"That reminded me that I am a top player because to play well in that atmosphere, that environment, you have to have something about you. I know I didn’t win it but we had a really good game in the final, I made the most centuries I’ve ever made and that’s ever been made there.
"If I can take that form into the crucible, with that attitude, then I think with the sort of game that I’ve got, I could be dangerous. Whether I win the World Championship or not, it doesn’t matter, I believe this year, probably for the first time, I could win it.
"Obviously we’d all like to break build like Ronnie, of course, we would.
"But there’s more than one way to go about this game and as good as Ronnie O’Sullivan is, he doesn’t win every tournament – he pretty much does at the minute, the ones he enters – so there’s room for other players to win.”

How the Rocket could be Snooker's first £2million man
Ronnie O'Sullivan could become snooker’s first £2million man if he sweeps the board over the next two months.
The Rocket, 48, has been in dominant form this season and has banked a record £1.142m in prize money.
This includes winning the UK Championship in York, the Masters in London and World Masters of Snooker in Saudi Arabia – the three events individually had £250,000 winners’ cheques.
His total has overtaken the previous high mark of £1.01m that was set by Judd Trump in 2018-19 when he claimed his one and only Crucible crown.
On the table now is some serious money if he continues his excellent form on the baize.
There is £170,000 for the World Open, £150,000 for the Tour Championship and, of course, £500,000 if he becomes an eight-time world champion in Sheffield.

Ahead of O'Sullivan's game in the far East tomorrow, the Rocket previously threatened to quit snooker if he could not play in China.
Speaking back in the Autumn, he said: "If I can’t go and do what I need to do, which is play a lot in China, I won’t ever play again. So, we’re at a kind of crossroads now.
"If that gets to the point where I’m not able to do that, I’m not allowed to do that, I probably won’t play.
"I’ll probably go and play Chinese 8-Ball because I still want to play snooker, I still want a cue in my hand.
“There’s just not enough here in the UK for me to justify the effort that I put in.
"If someone’s going to respect me and value me more, why would I not go there?
"It’s like being in an unhealthy relationship with someone, why would you be in that?"

Kyren Wilson flies 6k miles for world open but isn't allowed cue on train
Kyren Wilson endured a “nightmare” trip to the World Open as his cue took the Long Road to China.
The Warrior, 32, flew from the UK into Shanghai, one of his favourite cities, and then jumped on a three-hour bullet train for the Yushan Sports Center.
Yet snooker cues are not allowed on public transport – so equipment had to be driven separately for 480 kilometres (299 miles) for more than five hours.
World No.11 Wilson said: “The only problem with this event is it’s a bit of a nightmare travel-wise.
“We used to be allowed to have cues on the bullet trains. There used to be no problem with it.
“I don’t know if there isn’t quite enough room to take massive ski tubes on. I don’t know. It’s a little bit frustrating."
