The frame has already lasted over 40 minutes.

The record for the longest frame in snooker history is 123 minutes and 41 seconds, so there is quite a while to go until that is matched.

And it is not plain sailing for Judd Trump either despite his 2-1 lead.

  • O'Sullivan shocks snooker commentator

Ronnie O'Sullivan was sensationally dumped out of the World Open Hossein Vafaei in a thrilling contest that went right to the final frame.

The Rocket, 48, missed a golden chance to wrap things up after fluffing his lines on a relatively straightforward black. There were just 27 points left in play, and O'Sullivan was 26 points ahead of his Iranian opponent who then capitalised on the gaffe by sweeping the table to clinch victory by the narrowest of margins.

On commentary, Dave Hendon said he couldn't believe the how forcefully O'Sullivan played his fatal shot. "I can't believe he played it at that speed," he exclaimed, as gasps went up around the arena.

  • Top Trump

Defending champion Judd Trump finds himself a frame ahead in his quarter-final battle against Kyren Wilson.

With Ronnie O'Sullivan out the way, Trump will certainly fancy his chances of retaining the title.

But his opponent Wilson currently has a 55-46 lead in the second frame, so there is still a lot of work to do.

Jackson Page and Ellio Slessor are facing off in the other morning last-8 match.

  • Vafaei calls O'Sullivan his 'hero' after thrilling win

Hossein Vafaei insists any past feud with Ronnie O’Sullivan is water under the bridge.

He declared: “I feel great. I’m still shocked by how I missed that red in the final frame. I don’t know how.

“I went down so quickly. That was unforgivable. I thought I would lose.

“I’m so happy. He’s my hero, just playing against him is a dream. Ronnie said at the end, go and win it. I will try my best.

“I won’t talk about past results. The past is the past.”

  • Ronnie speaks about loss

Ronnie O’Sullivan has opened up over his shock defeat to Hossein Vafaei.

The Rocket said: “It wasn’t meant to be. A lot of stuff is fate. Usually 99 times out of 100, the better player usually wins. That’s how the match unfolds.

“He deserved his victory, he played the better snooker. It’s disappointing that I didn’t play well enough to win.

“I’m doing some exhibitions, Monday and Tuesday, in Hong Kong.

“I’m coming back to China in May. We’re doing a tour of China, playing exhibitions.

“I’m trying to figure out why I’m not feeling good out there when I’m playing.”

  • World Open quarter-finalist had not been allowed to travel with cue

Kyren Wilson endured a “nightmare” trip to the World Open as his cue took the Long Road to China.

The Warrior, 32, flew from the UK into Shanghai, one of his favourite cities, and then jumped on a three-hour bullet train for the Yushan Sports Center.

Yet snooker cues are not allowed on public transport – so equipment had to be driven separately for 480 kilometres (299 miles) for more than five hours.

World No.11 Wilson said: “The only problem with this event is it’s a bit of a nightmare travel-wise.

“We used to be allowed to have cues on the bullet trains. There used to be no problem with it.

“I don’t know if there isn’t quite enough room to take massive ski tubes on. I don’t know. It’s a little bit frustrating.
