RICKY HATTON'S son Campbell has announced his split from his trainer - uncle Matthew Hatton.
Hatton, 23, shared some words of gratitude for the help he has received from his uncle over the years.
But he has decided he needs a fresh start and a new trainer after suffering the first defeat of his career.
Hatton was beaten by James Flint via unanimous decision last week.
He now boasts a 14-1 record and thanked Matthew for the impact he has had on his career.
A social media post from Hatton read: "Spent most days over the last 7 years alongside this man & loved every second.

"Uncle, trainer & best mate rolled into one.
"Time for a change for the next part of the journey but will always be grateful for everything he’s done for me. It’s been a belter 🥊"
Matthew has taken the split in good spirits and expressed how much he enjoyed being part of Hatton's journey.
He wrote on X: "What a journey the last seven years. I’ve enjoyed it immensely.
