And football supporters reckon top Premier League managers, known for moaning about fixture congestion, would go crazy under such pressure.

Colne twice face playing two matches in two days amid their hectic rush from April 6 to the final day of the season on April 20.

And Manchester City counterpart Guardiola has also called for greater "protection" of his players.

But one supporter said of Colne's schedule: "You don't hear them whining about a few extra matches like Klopp and Guardiola do!"

Another turned the problem on its head by joking: "That’s Entertainment for the fans."

Several part-time clubs, especially those in areas hit by flooding and poor weather this season, have been struggling to squeeze in all their matches.

But football chiefs remain unwilling to delay the end of the campaign.

Other supporters pointed out testing schedules facing rival teams.

And recalling 1975, one said: "Can smash that - Wimbledon 14 in a month to win the Southern League. March had 11 fixtures making 25 in 33 days."

In contrast, Colne sit 14th in the 24-team NWCL Prem - meaning they are safe from the drop and virtually out of the play-off hunt.
