Bryceland beat fellow Scot 13-year-old Mitchell Lawrie 5-1 in the Event 11 final before seeing off England’s Jack Howarth in a 5-4 thriller in the Event 12 decider.

Bryceland said: “I got new darts last Friday so it was good to know they are good for me.

“Mitchell’s a good player and I like playing him because he’s good and it will take me up a level and make me play better.”

Bryceland kicked off Sunday's action with Event 11 success.

The Scot then completed a memorable double by beating Howarth 5-4 in the Event 12 final, denying the Englishman what would have been a fifth title on this year’s Tour.

Howarth fought back from 4-2 down to force a decider, but Bryceland - who only took up darts two years ago – wrapped up victory with a nerveless 104 checkout.

The talented youngster also hit the Foundation Tour’s highest ever average of 104.86 in his last-16 win over Joshua Machin, to cap off a superb weekend in the West Midlands.

Fans have been stunned by the news. One said: “That’s Luke’s cousin, Even Littler.”
