Cole Palmer is set to pocket a huge wage increase as a result of his stellar season

Palmer is in the race to win the Premier League Golden Boot and the Player of the Year award.

The 21-year-old’s current contract runs until 2030 and he earns a reported £80,000-a-week.

In comparison, Raheem Sterling, who has scored just eight goals, pockets £325,000-a-week.

And claim Chelsea chiefs want to hand Palmer a pay-rise to reflect his stunning season.

They plan to make him among the club’s top-earners.

And any new contract will include performance-based incentives in attempt to ensure he keeps up his top form.

Palmer’s current deal does not include a goal bonus.

And talks over a new contract could supposedly occur before the end of the season.
