And while SunSport's Neil Custis labelled the win as an embarrassment, Erik ten Hag believed that his team deserved to book their place in the final.
However, United now have their sights set on the top four with Burnley their next opponent.
But the English giants will have to do it without Marcus Rashford who hasn't even made the bench tonight.

And the England international was later seen limping as he walked through the mixed zone after the game.
Now United will be without the star altogether as they face the Blades with a growing injury list.
