Ferdinand, 45, is a regular on the broadcaster's coverage of the Champions League.

The retired defender often appears alongside the likes of Jules Breach, Laura Woods and Peter Crouch, so there will be a lineup change tonight.

He confirmed that he will not be on the screen tonight as Real Madrid travel to Germany to take on Bayern due to illness.

However, he admitted that he is aiming to be back on punditry duties on Wednesday night.
