A brace from Chris Wood sealed safety for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side as they finished six points clear of Luton despite their points deduction.

After the match, the Forest players and staff celebrated with the travelling fans in the away end.

During the celebrations, Yates was pictured with a personalised doll from the crowd.

The midfielder smiled as he held up the doll, which had armbands on and a picture of Yates over its face.

Fans also held up another personalised doll of defender Murillo in the stands.

Forest boss Nuno further added to the celebratory scenes as he revealed his plans following the match.

He explained: “The main objective when we arrived was to get safe, to keep our Premier League status. We embraced the challenge so we’re happy and now it’s time to celebrate.

“It’s been a tough, hard season and it’s good to finish on a high. Now we all have a chance to enjoy this result and I’m going to give myself a day off and take two or three beers.
