Chelsea fans furious at Stamford Bridge pitch and ‘expect to see sandcastles built’ during Soccer Aid
CHELSEA fans lambasted the state of the Stamford Bridge pitch being used for Soccer Aid.
Fans noticed the bumpy turf while Alex Scott and TV presenter Dermot O'Leary were talking ahead of Soccer Aid's 7:30 kick-off.
A host of English celebrities and former footballers hope to avoid a sixth consecutive defeat to the World XI.
And it was delight at the final whistle as the side managed by Frank Lampard and Robbie Williams triumphed 6-3.
However, England's hopes weren't made any easier by the state of the pitch.
Fans voiced their disgust after seeing Chelsea's disfigured Stamford Bridge pitch.

But normally Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium is the preferred destination of organisers.
The Theatre of Dreams has played host to Soccer Aid for eight out of the 13 different editions.
