Philippe Coutinho ‘agrees drastic pay cut’ to seal dream transfer with Aston Villa set to rip up flop’s contract

PHILIPPE COUTINHO has agreed a "drastic pay cut" to leave Aston Villa, according to reports.

The Brazilian, 32, spent last season on loan at Qatari side Al-Duhail after falling down the pecking order under Unai Emery.

Coutinho has two years remaining on his Villa contract.

But according to Brazilian outlet , Coutinho will now have his contract cancelled in order to move back to his homeland.

They claim that he is set to seal a dream return to Vasco da Gama.

The Rio de Janeiro-born ace played for Vasco's academy sides before moving to Inter Milan in 2008.

He later spent two years on loan in their first team, before breaking into the Inter side.

In order to return, he is set to take a big pay cut.

As per , he pockets £125,000 a week at Villa Park.

He joined the Villans, initially on loan, in 2022.
