NEWCASTLE have their sights on young American keeper Gavin Beavers ahead of a surprise move.
The Toon have struggled to land a new shot stopper and are now looking at the 19-year-old.
Beavers plays for Real Salt Lake, where he was an academy student.
He is already a first-team player in the MLS and could be a shrewd capture for the future.
Beavers is the youngest goalkeeper to start a game in MLS history.
Beavers is 6’6″ and gaining heaps of valuable experience at Real Salt Lake, currently second in the Western Conference.

But as Beavers looks set to move to England, Newcastle's winger Anthony Gordon is allegedly moving away from St James' Park.
The Magpies are reportedly ready to sell Gordon to Liverpool this week, according to the Daily Mail.
The claims that the Magpies were willing to cash in on Gordon as “they strive to comply with financial rules”.
Newcastle need to sell before June 30 to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules - or risk a Premier League points deduction

Gordon, 23, is currently on Euro 2024 duty with England and preparing to face Slovakia in the last-16 on Sunday.

Brad Friedel, Tim Howard, Brad Guzan all left the United States for European football.
Liverpool signed Friedel from Columbus Crew in 1997, before he featured for Blackburn, Aston Villa and Tottenham.
Howard, 45, played for Manchester United and under Sir Alex Ferguson between 2003 and 2007.
Guzan, 39, just recently won the Europa League with Atalanta, after joining in 2017.
