ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has banished a former Champions League winner and Premier League cult hero to the AC Milan youth team.
Ibrahimovic, 42, has worked as a senior adviser to AC Milan since hanging up his boots last year.
Milan finished a distant second to cross-city rivals Inter last season and are looking to improve their squad under Stefano Pioli.
And one player who has been judged as surplus to requirements is former Liverpool star Divock Origi.
Origi, 29, has been unwanted by AC Milan for some time now, and spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
In his 22 games for Forest last season, he managed one goal and one assist.

Ibrahimovic confirmed to that the striker will play no role at Milan going forward.
He said: "Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure are not part of our plans.
"They will be part of the youth team as they’re not included in our project."
Origi joined Milan in 2022 on a free transfer.

He found play time in his first campaign at Milan difficult and was restricted to just ten Serie A starts.
Pioli typically preferred to play Olivier Giroud up front, or Rafael Leao as a false nine.
Origi was linked with a move to the MLS in January - with LAFC thought to be the most interested party.
Origi won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Liverpool.
