United and the Spanish outfit reached a deal that will cost a fixed fee of just over £40,000 - just four years after joining for £40MILLION.

The deal does include several add-ons that could take the total price up to around £13m.

The playmaker has signed a contract until 2028 but also penned an emotional statement for the supporters of his now previous club.

The Netherlands international thanked the club and fans for all of their support.

The ex-Ajax star also stated that Manchester will "always have a special place" in his heart as that is where both of his children were born.

Van de Beek posted on : "Dear Manchester United family.

"Today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end. I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years.

"From the moment we arrived at Manchester United, we felt extremely welcome and we are grateful for that.
