England star Jess Carter ready for Gotham challenge after sealing transfer from Chelsea to NWSL champions
JESS CARTER is relishing her move “to one of the toughest leagues in the world” after swapping Chelsea for Gotham FC.
Earlier today the USA-based top-flight side confirmed the signing of the England full-back on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The ex-Blues ace's transfer has ended her six-year stint at Chelsea, after helping them win a seventh Women’s Super League title in May.
Following her 2018 switch from Birmingham to the London giants, Carter made 150 appearances lifting 11 trophies including five top-flight titles.
Of her Gotham move, the 36-capped Lioness said: "The club is playing at an incredible level right now in one of the toughest leagues in the world.
"I cannot wait to be a part of it all."

Carter’s transfer comes three months after the reigning National Women’s Soccer League champions signed her partner and ex-Blues goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger.
Her switch will see her reunited with the Germany player following the announcement of their engagement in May.
The shot-stopper, who was part of the Germany team that lost 4-1 to the USA at the Paris Olympics on Sunday, has made 12 appearances for the club.
Carter’s Gotham transfer comes eight months after the side, managed by Juan Carlos Amoros, won their first NWSL Championship title.
