Fulham launch new £20m transfer bid for Scott McTominay as they near Man Utd’s price tag for midfielder
United are close to making a signing of their own
FULHAM have launched a new £20million bid to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United.
The Cottagers have raised their offer by £5m in order to tempt the Red Devils into a deal.
Man United knocked back Fulham’s original £15m offer and are holding out for a fee between £25m and £30m.
McTominay, 27, is also wanted by Turkish outfit Galatasaray but an offer of £12m was rejected.
He has also been linked with moves to West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur in the past.
The midfielder featured 32 times in the Premier League last season, scoring seven goals.
He featured for the club for the first time this pre-season in the 3-2 win over Real Betis.
He made his return after playing for Scotland in their disappointing Euro 2024 campaign.
The Scot ranked up 62 minutes in the clash in which the club suffered blows to Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Manager Erik ten Hag will be concerned over his squad having already lost Rasmus Hojlund and new-signing Leny Yoro to long-term injuries.

Hojlund’s injury will present a chance to Joshua Zirkzee, who joined the club from Bologna.
The Dutch international signed for the club in a £36.5m deal, having scored 11 goals in the Serie A last term.
Ten Hag is also keen on adding more quality to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui is expected to join the club after Aaron Wan-Bissaka completed his exit.
The English defender is thought to be close to a move to West Ham, who had failed to sign Mazraoui.
The Hammers have agreed on a £10m-plus deal with United for Wan-Bissaka’s services.
