Tottenham close in on Dominic Solanke transfer as Bournemouth agree to sell striker for club-record fee

Solanke has already played for one of Tottenham's biggest rivals

BOURNEMOUTH have reportedly sanctioned the club-record sale of Dominic Solanke.

The striker enjoyed an impressive 2023-24 campaign with the Cherries, scoring 21 goals in 42 appearances.

His form attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham prior to the summer transfer window.

But Tottenham are now in pole position to sign him.

According to , Bournemouth have agreed to sell Solanke for a club-record fee.

Talks are now ongoing with Tottenham over finalising a deal.

The 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Spurs and is understood to be desperate for a move to North London.

Solanke has a £65million release clause written into his current contract that can be triggered by certain clubs.

Tottenham failed to sign a direct replacement for Harry Kane following the England captain's departure last summer.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has been waiting to find a player that fits his specific style of play.

Solanke enjoyed a fantastic campaign with the Cherries last season

During Tottenham's pre-season tour of Japan, he said: "What’s important is the type of striker we get.

"You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it’s going be a striker that fits that mould.

"It’s still the area of the park we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us."

Solanke kicked off his professional career with Chelsea having joined the club as a child.

He signed his first professional contract in 2014 and made his first team debut in a Champions League match against NK Maribor.

That was his only senior appearance for the Blues and he eventually joined Liverpool in a free transfer in 2017.

Solanke made 27 appearances for the Reds, scoring once.

He then joined Bournemouth in a £19m transfer two years later.
