Mixed martial arts’ premier promotion is Down Under this weekend for its ninth PPV card of a stacked 2024.
UFC 305 takes place in Perth, Australia, and features a showdown between bitter rivals Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.
South African slugger Du Plessis will bid to make his first defence of the middleweight title – which he claimed with a decision win over Sean Strickland in January – against the division’s former long-time ruler.
Tensions have been high between the pair ever since Du Plessis claimed he’d become the UFC’s “real” African champion.
Nigerian-born New Zealander Adesanya took exception to those comments and vowed to make ‘Still Knocks’ eat his words.
