  • Humphries wins New Zealand title

Luke Humphries won his first ever World series title today in New Zealand.

He took Damon Heta to school in the final, winning 8-2 in the final.

Before that, he battled back from 6-2 down against Luke Littler to win 8-6.

  • Humphries - I know Littler will be best in the world one day

Luke Humphries has backed Luke Littler to go on to become the world no 1 soon enough.

He said: “I know he’ll be the best player in the world one day. Whether it’s five years or a couple of years. He can’t be 17-years-old and that good and not in five years time be even better. It would be a shock to me.

“But he has to work hard, he can’t rest on his laurels. He has to work hard at the game. He probably will be World No.1 in five years time.

“It’s never a guarantee, he has to work hard and get there. I believe he will, he’s a good lad. His mum and dad are lovely people, he’s got good support around him.

“I get on really well with him. I’m going to make it as hard as possible for anyone not just Luke to be World No.1. I want to stay there as long as possible.”

  • Bully Boy slams breakdancing

Michael Smith slammed breakdancing being in the Olympics and said it is time darts make an appearance on the schedule.

Bully Boy believes there should be gold, silver and bronze for hurling tungsten at the oche.

But he's shocked that competitors get gongs for hurling their bodies around in dance "battles".

The English ace, 33, made his point with a simple post on social media.

Smith wrote: "And darts can’t get in the Olympics. #breaking."

It was a powerful bullseye for those who doubt the inclusion of street-dancing rather than some more established sports.

Apart from darts, that list of non-Olympic activities includes snooker, squash, bowling, netball, polo and Mixed Martial Arts.
