GARY NEVILLE was forced to admit he had changed outfit midway through Monday Night Football in a hilarious moment with Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carragher.

The Manchester United legend, 49, kicked off the evening's coverage wearing a what top with a black shirt-jacket - or "shacket" - over the top.

By the time Leicester and Tottenham had played out a draw and the broadcast moved on to the pundits' Premier League predictions for the season, Neville had changed into a black jumper.

And Carragher was not going to let that slide after they cut back from a clip from earlier in the show.

The Liverpool icon said: "He's the first man in Monday Night Football history to change his attire halfway through the show."

Neville gave a wry smile as he squirmed at Carragher's comment.

Presenter Dave Jones attempted to support Neville by insisting he simply wanted a "more casual approach".

But Carragher continued: "What is it with the shacket? What's the thing there?"

A reluctant Neville then explained: ";I had a shacket on and my microphone kept pulling... it was doing my head in.";

Jones then said it was a "professional decision", before Neville added: "It was, it was."

To which Carragher brilliantly replied: "I know."
