Man Utd star Mason Mount set to miss four or five weeks after picking up hamstring injury as statement released
He could miss some important clashes for the Red Devils
MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed that Mason Mount has picked up an injury.
The midfielder is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury.
Mount, 25, started both games for the Red Devils this season as he looked to finally make his mark.
He arrived at Old Trafford last summer in a £60million transfer from Chelsea.
However, his debut campaign did not go well as he only featured 14 times in the Premier League as he dealt with multiple injury issues.
Mount is now set to miss a number of weeks for Erik ten Hag due to his hamstring injury he picked up against Brighton.
He said in a statement: “During the last game I picked up a minor muscle issue.
“I’ve had it checked and it looks like I’ll be out for a few games. Leading up to and during pre-season, I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt re-energised, sharp and ready.
“I wanted you to hear it directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too.
“I will do everything possible to be back in the best shape and help the team.”
