MANCHESTER UNITED fans have been left fuming after Christian Eriksen's worrying live TV interview.

The midfielder was questioned following the Red Devils' 1-1 draw with Twente on Wednesday night.

Eriksen had opened the scoring before the hosts were pegged back in the second half at Old Trafford.

Sam Lammers' equaliser prevented United from making a winning start to their Europa League campaign.

After the match, Eriksen spoke to , explaining: "I think we are mostly disappointed as a team.

"I think, obviously we wanted more but in the end it was far from good enough.

"Being said also in the changing room they looked like they wanted it more than us and that can’t be right."

The Dane continued: "Everyone is looking at themselves, for most.

"Everyone is a professional footballer, they know what to do and know what can’t happen.

"In a game like today, obviously we don’t lose but it feels like a loss and that is something that at home against Twente can’t happen."

A third fan also wrote: "To come out and say this is incredibly poor."

Meanwhile, one more said: "I cannot believe a first-team United player has said that."

Erik ten Hag was also criticised for his decision making during the disappointing draw against his former club.

His tactics also surprised Eriksen, who appeared shocked at being substituted during the final 15 minutes.

The 32-year-old had gone from hero to villain as his error gifted Lammers the chance to pull Twente level.

United are next in European action away to Porto next Thursday following the visit of Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend.
