Wuhan Open Snooker 2024 LIVE RESULTS: Latest as Judd Trump THROUGH to semis after thrilling decider, Murphy THRASHED
JUDD TRUMP will have breathed a huge sigh of relief after making it through to the semi-finals of the Wuhan Open.
The world No 1 needed all nine frames to beat Chris Wakelin, who had been leading 2-0 and 3-1 before Trump fought back.
In the other afternoon last eight match, Zhang Anda was beaten by compatriot Si Jiahui to reach the final four.
The early QF clashes saw Guodong Ziao thrash Shaun Murphy 5-1 and Jack Lisowski lose by the same scoreline to Long Zehuang.

Wakelin on fire
Chris Wakelin was buzzing after knocking out Chinese hero Ding Junhui .
Wakelin beat Ding 5-3 in a back and forth match to set up a quarter-final clash with Judd Trump.
Wakelin said: "It was my first time playing Ding out here and that was some atmosphere.
"Obviously the crowd really wanted him to win and when it went close they got behind him. I thrived on it out there.
"When I first walked out, I thought I would have crumbled and a couple of years back that is what would have happened.
"To play like I did, on such a big stage, against the God of snooker here in China, is what dreams are made of."

Despite his win over Higgins, Trump has laid down a marker to the rest of the field - and declares he still has gears to move through.
The World No. 1 said: "I didn’t play my best. I just tried to hang in there.
"I got fortunate in one of the frames with the green and then played a safety in the final frame and potted a red.
"There were a couple of pivotal turning points in that game which went my way and that’s enough to swing a game."

Judd Trump made a bizarre error during his 5-2 win over John Higgins.
The World No. 1 picked up the wrong cue on his way to the table, resulting in an embarrassing moment.
Reflecting on the bizarre incident after his win, Trump said: "I have never done that before. It was a bit of a shock.
"It wasn't until I really got to the table that I noticed. I was going to break off and the cue felt strange, so I looked down and it wasn't my cue.
"Luckily for me, John was very nice about it and he just told me to wait as long as possible.
"I think it has happened before and someone got awarded the frame, but John was nice enough just to allow me enough time to get my cue back."
