  • Trump 2-8 Wilson (0-4)

Four on the board for Wilson as Trump fouls playing down to the reds and missing them.

A few visits later, Wilson misses a cross-table red into the left corner pocket and that misses and the cue ball stays central after hitting the blue. Chance for Trump here.

  • Trump 2-8 Wilson (0-0)

    Trump to break.

  • Daft from Trump

A saying you're used to seeing but never usually about Judd.

He surely has a mountain to climb now needing to win seven successive frames.

  • Trump 2-8 Wilson

I did say it was scrappy.

But that ending in the lengthy frame was absolutely bonkers. Trump missing the edge of the yellow ball is unforgivable for him and the outcome was devastating.

Wilson takes the frame and now is one frame away from victory.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (41-57)

Eh!!?? Trump has just missed the yellow ball altogether, with nothing in its way!

An absolute shocker, that if my six-year old did I would bar him from lifting a cue again.

He's also hit the blue and left it as a free ball. Extraordinary. What an error.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (41-52)

That red goes to WILSON, a cute pot using the rest.

He follows up with the blue and we're down to the colours, with the yellow hugging the left cushion.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (41-46)

I stand corrected, he escapes at the first attempt.

Trump follows it up by missing his own double attempt. Still the one red to play for.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (41-46)

    Luck definitely on Trump's side!

He pots a good red before missing a simple black into the bottom corner pocket.

But the cue ball heads up towards the baulk, snookering Wilson in the process. A rye smile from Trump.

Wilson gets out it this time but he's now stuck behind the pink and faces an almost impossible snooker to escape from.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (40-46)

Solitary red again for Trump on that visit.

Wilson looks for the double off the left cushion and into the middle....CLOSE! It again rattles the jaws and bounces away to safety!

It's just not happening for him in the frame - a frame he still LEADS with two reds remaining.

Those two reds are latched onto the left cushion, however. So we could be here a wee bit.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (39-46)

Big miss from Trump as the only available red smashes off the jaws and stays up.

He leans on the table, he knows it was a big opportunity.

Thankfully for him, he's not left anything on.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (39-46)

Tide just turning as Wilson finds the top right pocket with the cue ball.

Four more for Trump as this important frame continues.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (35-46)

Ouch! A thundered red is followed not long later but a thundered in black.

He's looking to free at least one of the reds on the bottom rail but he catches it too thin.

Forced to play safe once more.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (22-46)

A break of 29 there for Wilson who moves 24 ahead in the frame.

One red clutching to the left cushion, one being occupied by the black on its spot and three grouped on the bottom rail.

Still 68 to play for in the frame as we're back in a safety exchange.

  • Great banter

Wilson asks for the black to be re-spotted as it is in his way for an easy red.

The referee does so but Wilson is still blocked out.

"That's the last time I buy you a drink", Wilson says. Good stuff.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (22-9)

Another four on the board for Wilson as Trump misses a red when snookered behind a yellow in top right corner.

He comes off the left cushion but just misses the reds grouped on the bottom rail. Wilson puts him in again but he successfully hits on the second attempt. Tense this.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (22-5)

Goodness gracious, more misses than Henry VIII!

Wilson with a relatively simple middle pocket attempt which misses and Trump cannot capitalise, missing a long yet makeable red of his own into the bottom right corner pocket.

Gasps of 'ooh' and 'ahh' around the Belfast stage.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (22-5)

Wilson IS now on the board in the frame, though through no skill of his own.

Trump goes in search of a long red into a bottom pocket which misses and the white bounces off two cushions and you can see from a mile away where it's going.

Back up the baulk end and into the pocket. Wilson follows up with a red of his own before going in search of a snooker.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (22-0)

Scrappy, scrappy! Trump's break of 21 comes to an end with a simple red missing in the left corner pocket.

It's a chance for Wilson to respond and get on the board in this frame after a nervy start to the session - but HE makes a hash of his opportunity to respond.

We're back reverting to safety shots and you can tell each frame is a big one for the pair...

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (1-0)

Unfortunate kiss after potting that first red brings his break to an end before it even begins.

He's back in the scoring shortly after, though and will be hoping to have better luck with this visit.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson (0-0)

Now then. A roar of 'come on Judd' rings around the arena as Wilson over cuts a red into the bottom right pocket.

A chance on the Trump break now for the world number one to get another break going.

  • Trump 2-7 Wilson

A perfect start to the night's session from Trump.

After his brilliant, well-crafted 64 he saw out the frame 84-7.

  • Trump 74-7 Wilson (1-7)

Wilson is finally back at the table after Trump compiled a meticulous 64 break.

But he faces a huge struggle to get back into this frame.

  • Trump 1-7 Wilson

Judd Trump is building up a tidy lead in surely a must-win early frame.

  • Wilson on crest of wave at Waterfront

Belfast’s Waterfront Hall is hosting this tournament - one of the four home majors.

Apart from £100,000 at stake for the winner, there's £5k on offer for the highest break.

In all, prize money totals £550k.

Kyren Wilson leads Judd Trump 7-1 - needing two more frames for victory.

  • Could Trump vs Wilson be the new top duel?

Ronnie O'Sullivan's shaky form and gloomy mood have cast a shadow over his future.

And that's another reason why Judd Trump's ongoing final with Kyren Wilson could help ignite sport's next mega duel.

Trump trails Wilson 7-1 ahead of tonight's climactic session in the Northern Ireland Open final.

Legend O'Sullivan has said of his recent form: “I’m absolutely useless. Forget about the Worlds."

In contrast, Trump reckons world champ Wilson has improved beyond recognition in the past two years.
