  • More from the players

Ollie Sleightholme reckons England 'righted the wrongs' of the autumn series tonight.

He told TNT Sports: "The results have not gone our way, but this week we got our foot down and righted those wrongs from the other weeks.

"We tried to stay positive, there was a lot of good stuff to take from these performances."

  • Enough for Borthwick?

Still questions to be asked of England and what on earth has happened over the course of November.

It was a much-needed victory and a decent one at that but is it enough to keep the wolves from the door for Steve Borthwick?

Tougher tests lie in wait if he does continue.

  • 'It takes time'

Marcus Smith has called for patience and believes England putting themselves in winning positions will only help the team moving forward.

He told TNT Sports: “I enjoyed myself, we wanted to express ourselves, which is what we’ve tried to do all Autumn and hopefully we can take that into the Six Nations.

"It takes time but it’s good we’re in positions to win games. It takes time, look at South Africa in 2015-16, they took time to get to where they are.

"There’s been minor blips but we are going to work on more commitment and collective buy in.”

  • FT: England 59-14 Japan

It was slightly more strenuous than a training match, though Japan did have a couple of big moments.

The changes made a difference in the second half too.

England were always in a lose-lose position here but it's a decent enough result to end a difficult autumn.

  • FT! England 59-14 Japan

    Finally an England win!

They avoid going six games without a win with victory here, though that was always going to be the case.

  • 77 – England 59-14 Japan

England pushing for another score in the closing minutes.

Fin Smith again at the heart of it, stabbing a cute little kick through the Japan back line for three on-rushing England players.

Good defending sees the deepest Japanese defender cover the ground and clear to safety.

  • That first try feeling

England's players flock to congratulate Tom Roebuck

  • 70 – England 59-14 Japan

He comes on in minute 61, looked set to open his account for England a few minutes later.

Now, TOM ROEBUCK DOES have his first England try.

Again, it's almost a carbon copy as he's picked out by a beauty of a kick from Fin Smith but he's able to sneak through a tiring Japan defence this time and get his first England try.

    Smith converts.

  • TRY – ENGLAND! TOM ROEBUCK (69 mins)

  • 65 – England 52-14 Japan

Smith converts too as England soar over half-a-century.

  • 65 – England 50-14 Japan

It's another immediate England response and another for LUKE COWAN-DICKIE.

Tom Roebuck is picked out with a fantastic kick out to the right and Roebuck looks to have jinked his way to a first ever England try.

But he's just brought down when closing in on the try line, losing his footing in the process, allowed Cowan-Dickie to benefit and follow-up a short time later with the try.

  • TRY – ENGLAND! LUKE COWAN-DICKIE (64 mins)

  • 62 – England 45-14 Japan

England's defenders at at sixes and sevens once again in one of the few chances Japan have had to run at them.

KAZUKI HIMENO benefits as he receives the offload before getting Japan's second score of the afternoon on the board.

    And it's converted.

  • TRY – JAPAN! KAZUKI HIMENO (62 mins)

  • 59 – England 45-7 Japan

The foot is back on the gas as England pen Japan in.

One of the England changes, LUKE COWAN-DICKIE rides a couple of challenges before powering over the line for another England score.

    Smith again fails to convert.

  • TRY – ENGLAND! LUKE COWAN-DICKIE (59 mins)

  • Changes

A triple change for England, amongst them young, exciting prop Asher Opoku-Fordjour comes on for his England debut.

Much is expected of the 20-year-old who is an absolute unit.

Huge excitement as he's given a fair chunk of time here.

  • Moment of magic

Ex-England fly-half, Paul Grayson told Radio 5 Sports Extra: "Tommy Freeman chases it to six or seven metres out, takes it in two hands and immediately reverse flicks it behind him - what a touch from Freeman!

"That's magic - make sure you get to see it, it's one of those moments. High quality from Tommy Freeman."

  • 54 – England 40-7 Japan

Marcus Smith is off-target with his conversion attempt this time.

  • 53 – England 40-7 Japan

It's a GEORGE FURBANK try but it's sensational stuff from Tommy Freeman.

England work it from left to right and the ball for Freeman looks poised to head out of play.

But he's audacious, cheeky and confident enough to offload with a reverse throw BEHIND his back, onto the waiting Furbank to run over the line for a try.

Make sure you get a look at this at some point later.

  • TRY – ENGLAND! GEORGE FURBANK (53 mins)

  • 51 – England 35-7 Japan

Japan fail to do anyone with the territory though.

England need to wake up in this second half.

  • 49 – England 35-7 Japan

Big cheers amongst the Japan players on halfway as they win a scrum-penalty.

The cameras pan in on Eddie Jones who's equally as delighted.

Fist pumps, the lot from those on the field as it's booted into touch near the try line.
