A FOOTBALLER has been sent off just seconds after his team scored for leathering the ball into the goalkeeper's face.
The awkward moment happened in Peterhead's 1-1 draw at Forfar in the Scottish League Two.
Andrew McCarthy was the unfortunate man to see red just seconds after his side took the lead.
Kieran Shanks belted in the opening goal at Station Park Forfar in the 46th minute.
McCarthy tried to join in the celebrations by booting the ball back into the goal.
However, his powerful effort missed the goal and smashed into goalkeeper Marc McCallum.

The midfielder was met with a furious reaction from the home side's players.
To make matters worse, the referee instantly brandished a red card for "violent conduct".
McCarthy was in disbelief at what had happened as he fell to his knees at the sight of the red card.
