The news comes as a blow for Pep Guardiola’s side, who are looking for a win against the Toffees.

They languish in 7th place, following a dismal run in the Premier League.

Bernardo Silva will captain the team, in the absence of Walker.

Phil Foden and Mateo Kovacic will start in midfield, with Savinho and Jeremy Doku supporting Erling Haaland in attack.

Kevin De Bruyne, who has endured an injury-hit campaign, can only make the bench.
