Goals from Matheus Cunha - whose goal was the second United have conceded from a corner in eight days - and Hwang Hee-Chan condemned Ruben Amorim's side to a third defeat in as many games.

And they were not helped after captain Bruno Fernandes got sent off for a second yellow 90 seconds after the break.

It means he will miss United's next game against Newcastle on December 30.

But Manuel Ugarte was also booked - meaning he will miss the game too - leaving fans fearing the worst.

Another added: "No Bruno Fernandes or Manuel Ugarte for Newcastle and now we’re losing on Boxing Day…"

One fumed: "No Bruno and Ugarte against Newcastle. That will be another loss sadly."

Another raged: "No Bruno, No Ugarte for Newcastle.... ridiculous."

Amorim said: "Of course, when you lose, when we don't win, it's a step back. It was really hard with the sending off.

"The goal was similar against Tottenham. Then, we tried. Even with one less guy we tried to and I think we were near something but then Wolves scored the second one.

"Then, in the end, we tried everything and the transition was 2-0. For us, let's continue."
