Chelsea want a stunning £40million for centre-half Trevoh Chalobah after his recall from Crystal Palace, SunSport's Alan Nixon exclusively reports.
The Stamford Bridge money men expect the huge fee for the defender.
He is now available to play for Blues boss Enzo Maresca following the termination of his loan in South London.
Chalobah, who made 14 appearances for Palace, could yet play regularly for Chelsea this season.
But if anyone hits the cash target then he is likely to go.
Palace are unwilling to meet the figure and pay the 25-year-old’s wages, which are close to £7m a year.

Talking about the England defender, the Sweden legend – who is a senior advisor at the San Siro, said: “Kyle Walker is a top player, a big leader… we’re checking what we can do for that deal, yes. We will see”.
Walker is expected to join the Serie A giants in the next coming days.
Kelleher to leave Anfield
Despite being an able deputy for Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher is set to leave Anfield at the end of the campaign.

Posting on its X page, they wrote, “News has arrived that Al-Hilal Club President Fahd bin Nafel and Saad Al-Ladheeth are in London, and Salah is 99% a Hilal player and Van Dijk is close.”

Bayern Munich are close to securing the services of Chelsea's out of favour Christopher Nkunku.

Crystal Palace have landed Romain Esse.
"I’m very excited to be here. It’s a good project and a good opportunity, so I just can’t wait to get started," The England U20 international said.

Garnacho temperament
ALEJANDRO GARNACHO could miss out on a transfer away from Manchester United after two interested clubs raised questions about his attitude, reports suggest.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a transfer this month, with Serie A leaders Napoli and Premier League rivals Chelsea both interested.
Man Utd are said to want at least £50million for the winger.
