"Would Alexander Isak consider joining United if a bid came in? Without a doubt. I’m not saying a deal will get done but he would be the perfect signing for United.

"He can lead the line and score goals and could be a statement signing for the new regime. He is full of confidence at the moment and could lead by example."

  • City close in on target

Omar Marmoush is edging closer to a move to Manchester City.

The Premier League champions are yet to open formal talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for the Egyptian forward.

But Marmoush and his representatives are increasingly confident that the two clubs will reach agreement over a fee for him to move in the current transfer window.

Eintracht want £67m and have form for holding out until the last minute, after squeezing £80m out of Paris Saint-Germain for Randal Kolo Muani in the dying minutes of the 2023 summer transfer window.

City will have to go up from their current valuation of nearer £50m for Marmoush.

But the feeling in Germany is that a deal will be done.

Arsenal are also interested in the Bees talisman.

"If he really wants to prove everyone wrong, go and do it there, and then come back to these shores and do it here.

"Then everyone will believe, understand and respect you for what you have done but he can’t just go there believing that everything is perfect thinking “I’ve done this, I’ve done that”, because his main thing is here.

";His main thing is being at Manchester United and doing it for his local team, which he hasn’t been doing.

"So the best thing he can do is ask for the chance to prove everyone wrong at Manchester United."

  • AC odds-on to win Marcus race

AC Milan have suddenly become the overwhelming favourites to sign Marcus Rashford.

Arsenal and Tottenham are also rated possible destinations for the Manchester United striker.

The 25-year-old has agreed in principle to join the English champions, according to reports in Germany.

However his club – who are flying high at home and in the Europa League – want around £67million if they are to part with their prized asset mid season.

And that means the two clubs are far apart in their valuations, with City viewing him more in the £50m bracket.

The Etihad giants always knew it would be a challenge to get Frankfurt to agree to sell when they are going so well.

But he is the man Pep Guardiola wants to breathe new life into a season which nosedived in the final two months of 2024 – so they are determined to get their man.

Marmoush would provide support for striker Erling Haaland.

But he can play anywhere along the front-line and also operates as a Number 10.

  • Marq-ed off yet again

Marquinhos has exited Arsenal for a FOURTH loan.

The Brzilian wideman, 21, has joined Cruzeiro until the top flight season in his home country ends in December.

  • It's Amad mission!

Amad Diallo says he wants to make history with Manchester United after committing his future to the club until 2030, writes MARTIN BLACKBURN.

The Ivorian, 22, has been rewarded for his performances during a difficult season with a fresh five year deal to replace the one that was due to expire this summer.

Sunsport reported in November that Diallo was in line to treble his £30,000 per week wages under the new terms.

And since then he has got the dramatic late winner in the Manchester derby in December and last week he grabbed an equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Anfield.

  • Ready, Teddy go for United spree

Teddy Sheringham “wouldn’t be surprised” if old club Manchester United land two major signings this month.

United are in dire need of a shake up given their dismal form so far this term.

Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest , Sheringham said: “I wouldn’t be surprised to see two big January signings at Manchester United.

“I think Manchester United need to rebuild, but it’s hard to get big names and proper players in the January window.

“I think it’s a time to work in the background and look for players to start next season. I’d like to see big signings but it’s going to be difficult.”

  • Atletico eye Tyrick as Arsenal & Spurs hover

Tyrick Mitchell is a target for Atletico Madrid along with a host of top Prem clubs, writes JACK ROSSER.

The Crystal Palace left-back is also on the radar of AC Milan, who have a strong English contingent.

Mitchell, 25, is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2027.

And it would take a huge offer to strike a deal for him this month.

The left-back is also admired by Arsenal and Tottenham.

But Palace are keen to keep him around as Oliver Glasner’s side continues to gel.

Mitchell has two England caps and will hope to catch Thomas Tuchel's eye given the worries in his position.

Ben Chilwell has been frozen out at Chelsea.

While Luke Shaw continues to battle injury problems at Manchester United.

  • Sule-mania sweeps Europe

Kamaldeen Sulemana is being tracked by a host of European clubs, writes JACK ROSSER.

Southampton's club record signing came close to leaving in the summer and could again be on his way out this month.

Ajax, who saw a late move collapse in August, are back in for the winger, but face plenty of competition.

Valencia, Nantes and Wolfsburg are all considering a loan move with an option to buy for the Ghana international.

Sulemana arrived at Saints two years ago for a club-record £22million but has scored just two goals since - both in the same game against Liverpool on the final day of the 2023 season.
