Danny Murphy: 'Super' Mainoo will stay at Man Utd

Speaking to , former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy said: “Does Kobbie Mainoo exploring options away from Manchester United show how far the club has fallen? A little bit yes.

“United were one of the most successful clubs in Europe, winning trophies every season, then they're kind of everybody's desirable destination. So they didn't need to be worrying about getting players signed up on contracts. Everybody wanted to be there.

“They were in control, whereas now it's changed a bit. I think this particular scenario with Mainoo is just a little bit of to and fro.

“I'd be amazed if they were to let him go with the talent he's got.

“Don't get me wrong. I don't think any big club should be dictated to by an agent of a 19-year-old.

“I think if they are too greedy and too stupid with what they're asking after five minutes of fame, then let them go.

“There's other great players out there who want to play for Manchester United, but I don't think that's what this is.

“Paper talk is always there, but I think they'll get Mainoo tied down.

“I think he's a super talent and not a player they're going to want to be leaving. Not anytime soon.”

Bournemouth have agreed a deal with Chelsea for the signing of academy product Zain Silcott-Duberry.

The 19-year-old winger, yet to make his senior debut, is extremely versatile and can play in a number of positions.

Man Utd in talks with Napoli over Garnacho move

Man Utd are said to have rejected an initial bid of £40m from Napoli for Alejandro Garnacho.

But the Red Devils reportedly remain willing to listen to improved offers before the deadline.

He is the director's ideal Khvicha Kvaratskhelia replacement. The Georgian superstar is bound for Paris Saint-Germain.

Garnacho is understood to be open to a move to the Italian club, although personal terms are yet to be agreed.

The 20-year-old's place in Ruben Amorim's system is not as clear, with the 20-year-old having been intermittently used by the new United manager.

Homegrown player sales represent pure profit on the books, which has thrust the future of Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo into a speculation storm.

Alphonso Davies to Man Utd or Liverpool?

Alphonso Davies' agent has ignited competition to sign the left-back in the summer.

The Bayern Munich star, who is still only 24, has not reached an agreement to renew his contract with the Bundesliga giants.

Man Utd have received a huge boost in their quest to beat Real Madrid to Davies' signature.

His agent Nick Househ wants to organise meetings with Madrid and United in the coming weeks, according to German football reporter

Falk also states discussions with Liverpool and Man City are on the cards.

United have been playing with makeshift left-backs for more than 14 months, amid the long-term injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Al Hilal ready to offer Salah lucrative deal

Al Hilal are ready to offer Mohamed Salah a lucrative contract if he wants to leave Europe and play in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi champions are looking for a high-profile signing to replace Neymar.

Neymar's contract runs out at the end of this season and Al Hilal can offer to make Salah one of the star names at the expanded Club World Cup in the USA in June and July.

Salah will be a free agent this summer and he has been free to talk to foreign clubs since the start of this month.

Liverpool rejected a £150m offer for Salah from Al Ittihad in August 2023.

Salah, who will be 33 in June, believes he is still at his peak and can continue to play at the highest level in Europe.

Danny Murphy: Guehi can be Van Dijk’s successor

Speaking to , former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy said: “Could Marc Guehi be Virgil van Dijk’s long-term successor? Absolutely.

“I think the only thing Liverpool's recruitment might be wondering about is that the fee would be overinflated because he's a Premier League player.

“I'd expect them probably to go further afield knowing the way they work but in terms of watching football and seeing him play, he is a terrific footballer.

“He is a good athlete and is in a great place in his career. He looks really comfortable with himself and has become the main man for England in his position.

“The one little small thing would be his physical size, I know he's not small, but Van Dijk's a mountain of a man.

“Guehi is not as big, not as powerful, but he is quick. I think if Marc Guehi was to sign for Liverpool, there'd be very few fans disappointed in that signing.”

VVD is out of contract this summer, but Liverpool fans are hoping their captain will sign a new deal.

Tosin moved to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer in the summer.

It's unclear at this stage whether Chelsea would be prepared to let Tosin leave.

Brighton defender Igor has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to surgery on a hamstring injury and are understood to be assessing their defensive options.

Newcastle set to 'accept' Almiron offer

Newcastle are set to accept Atlanta United's £10m offer for Miguel Almiron, according to the Daily Mail.

The Magpies are reportedly unlikely to sign a replacement despite Harvey Barnes suffering an injury which could sideline him for up to a month.

Almiron is said to be "keen" to return to the MLS with his former club and talks could accelerate this week.

The 30-year-old winger has made just one league start under Eddie Howe this season.

He has still remained in Newcastle's matchday squad throughout the campaign, though, and came off the bench in his side's 3-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday night.

Man City set for further Marmoush talks TODAY

Man City will hold further talks with Eintracht Frankfurt today about a deal for striker Omar Marmoush, according to Sky Germany.

The clubs are yet to reach an agreement over the financial terms of the sale.

Eintracht want £67m for the player who has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga this season.

Only Harry Kane has scored more (16 with Bayern Munich).

Isak warning

In-demand Alexander Isak has Jamie Vardy’s record in his sights after eclipsing the great Alan Shearer.

The Newcastle star’s brace in the 3-0 triumph over Wolves took his tally to 17 for the season and stretched Toon’s winning-run to nine.

Isak has scored 11 goals in his last eight top-flight games and bagged in each of those fixtures.

All-time top scorer Shearer could only manage seven on the bounce with the 25-year-old Swede becoming just the fourth Premier League star to achieve the feat.

Leicester’s Vardy holds the Prem record for scoring in 11 successive matches and red-hot Isak will have opposition defenders quivering after warning he is hungry for more.

The £150m-rated star said: “I feel amazing. Individually I feel free and confident but looking at the team we are doing so well as well, defending and with threats going forward.

“It is a team and I have to keep contributing with goals.

“When we play at our best the players will feel free. In my position as well I want to be able to express myself in the best way I can.

“Records are things you enjoy after your career. I go into every game with the same mentality – to score goals as that helps the team.”

The Liverpool full-back, 26, has been linked with a move to Real during the January transfer window.

According to Relevo the reigning European champions are beginning to pull back in their pursuit of TAA.

That is because Real see no chance of Liverpool releasing the player during the winter market, with his contract up in the summer.

And that would be for just TWO seasons in the desert with club Al-Hilal.

One of the Gulf state’s most powerful figures fuelled the story by posting a picture of Salah wearing an Al-Hilal shirt.

Turki Alalshikh, who has masterminded Saudi Arabia’s effective takeover of professional boxing, holds a ministerial role in the Kingdom’s government and is also chairman of the state’s General Entertainment Authority.

The winger has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal at Portman Road.

Philogene told the club website: "I’m excited to be here and I know there are great players in the squad.

"I just want to play as much as possible. As a player I like to dribble and link up play and provide goals and assists. I’m looking forward to it."

Pereira - 'I don't need Lemina'

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has savaged Mario Lemina for backing out of Wednesday's 3-0 loss to Newcastle.

Report suggest the Wolves reigning player of the season is targeting a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

Pereira raged: "I cannot bring a player who tells me he is not in the mental condition to help the team. With this commitment, I cannot bring him.

"If a player comes to me and says ‘I’m not in conditions mentally to help the team’ this is something that the club must solve. He wants to leave.

"I don't know what happened before me, but with this energy and this mentality, I don't need him. I prefer to play with another player."
