  • 'Salah, Van Dijk & Trent talks crucial for Reds'

Liverpool have been warned that contract talks over Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold could dent their title charge.

Star striker Salah has hinted it could be his last season at Anfield, skipper Van Dijk’s future is uncertain and Real Madrid want Alexander-Arnold.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit told : “Liverpool have enough quality in their squad to go all the way, but their biggest problem is themselves.

“If Liverpool can hold on to their motivation, then I have no doubt they’ll be champions at the end of the season.

“The return of the Champions League could provide a bit of trickiness to Liverpool’s run.

“And if Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold keep getting distracted by their contract talks, we could see a problem within the dressing room, possibly.

“I have no idea what Liverpool want to do with those players.

“If they don’t receive new contracts, it could be damaging to the club’s form. Chelsea, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest will keep gaining points.”

  • Palace target Esse rated at £15m

Crystal Palace have opened talks over a deal for Millwall’s Romain Esse, writes JACK ROSSER.

The winger, 19, has been tracked by the Eagles for some time.

However, after a release clause was included in his new contract earlier this year he could cost around £15million.

Newcastle have also expressed an interest in the England Under-20 international, but Eddie Howe’s men must sell before they can buy this month giving Palace an advantage.

Esse, who almost left the club for £500,000 in the summer before agreeing his new contract, has four goals and one assist in the Championship this summer.

Eagles boss Oliver Glasner wants two new signings this month.

Liverpool winger Ben Doak, on loan at Middlesbrough, was the subject of a £15m bid but the Reds are holding out for double that.

Glasner also wants to add a left-back to provide cover and competition for Tyrick Mitchell this month.

  • Fulham, Brentford & Ipwich eye Igor

EXCLUSIVE: Ipswich have joined the growing race for Botafogo striker Igor Jesus, writes ANDY DILLON.

The Tractor Boys have picked up form lately and fresh blood in the forward line could prove a huge boost to their Premier League survival chances.

Fulham and Brentford have also been linked with January moves for the £21 million-rated forward, 23, who has four Brazil caps.

  • Man City need Miracle to land Marmoush

Manchester City must do “something extraordinary” if they want to sign £50million-rated Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush this month, writes MARTIN BLACKBURN.

The Egyptian, 25, is the top target for Pep Guardiola as he looks to replace Julian Alvarez and provide some support for Erling Haaland.

However Eintracht are reluctant to sell their star players as they are going well in both their domestic league and the Europa League this season.

Frankfurt have no plans to let Marmoush leave following 18 goals in 24 games this term.

Director of football Markus Krosche said: “Our basic intention is to keep the squad together.

“Something extraordinary would have to happen for us to move away from this position.”

  • Kop monitoring Bayern ace

Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is thought to be on Liverpool's radar - as they prepare for the possibility of Real Madrid target Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving.

TAA’s current deal expires in the summer, with Real Madrid chasing the right-back.

The Premier League leaders are interested in a move for Kimmich , according to Bild reporter

Like Alexander-Arnold, the German international is also out of contract at the end of the season.

Falk wrote on X: “Liverpool are considering the signing of Joshua Kimmich.

“Kimmich is a free agent in the summer, Bayern are in talks with Kimmich for a new contract.”

But Liverpool have been free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the player since January 1.

  • 'Isak would consider Utd move'

Paul Merson urged Arsenal to break the bank for Alexander Isak - now Teddy Sheringham hopes Manchester United attempt to do the same.

Newcastle striker Isak, rated at £150million, has hit 15 goals in 22 matches this campaign

Ex-Red Devils' forward Sheringham told BoyleSports that United were a "massive draw for any player and playing for the club is still a highlight of anyone’s career".

The former England ace added: “Would Alexander Isak consider joining United if a bid came in? Without a doubt.

“I’m not saying a deal will get done but he would be the perfect signing for United.

“He can lead the line and score goals and could be a statement signing for the new regime. He is full of confidence at the moment and could lead by example.”

  • German giants eye Carney

Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka is reportedly a Borussia Dortmund target.

The attacking midfielder, 21, appears well down the pecking order for Stamford Bridge boss Enzo Maresca.

And Sky Sports reckon the former England Under-20 ace is now wanted by the German giants.

  • 'Como join Rashford race'

Como have reportedly joined AC Milan in pursuing Marcus Rashford.

Sky Italia say the race for the Manchester United striker is intensifying.

Rashford's agent has already jetted to Italy for discussions over a possible loan switch this month.

A string of other clubs are keen on the 27-year-old.

  • Red Devils recall THREE keepers

Manchester United have recalled three goalkeepers from loans amid doubts over Andre Onana's form.

Onana has made significant errors under new manager Ruben Amorim, while understudy Altay Bayindir committed two major blunders in last month's Carabao Cup loss at Tottenham.

Now The Mail claim a trio of teenagers are heading back to Old Trafford from non-league clubs.

Two are returning from the sixth-tier National League North.

Elyh Harrison, 18, was at Chester and 19-year-old Tom Wooster shone for Farsley Celtic.

Tom Myles, 19, enjoyed a temporary spell with seventh-level Runcorn Linnets of the Northern Premier League.

All three are expected to stay at United for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are said to be considering a replacement for Onana - but a January move is rated unlikely.

  • PSG 'offer Skriniar to Villa'

Ex-Manchester United target Milan Skriniar has reportedly been offered to Aston Villa.

Villa lack depth in defence following injury to Spanish centre-back Pau Torres.

And the Mail claim PSG are willing to offload Skriniar to Unai Emery's side.

The Slovakia skipper, 25, joined the French giants from Inter Milan in July 2023.

  • Amorim 'keen to keep Zirkzee'

Despite Manchester United targeting a proven striker this month, Rube Amorim hopes to keep Joshua Zirkzee.

That's the message emerging tonight from various reports - as speculation emerges that Marcus Rashford is closer to an exit.

Sky Sports say Old Trafford chief Amorim has been "consistent" in his desire to keep the 23-year-old Dutchman, who joined from Bologna last July.

Juventus are just one of the clubs said to be keen on borrowing the six-cap star.

But United are keen to give him more time to adjust to the Prem - before Amorim makes a firm judgement.

  • Villa linked with attackers at 2 European giants

Aston Villa's search for another top attacker is focusing on two major European clubs.

Boss Unai Emery's top target is thought to be AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The Nigerian, 25, played under Emery for Villarreal.

But villa are also said to be still monitoring Donyell Malen.

The 41-cap Dutchman would be tough to lure from Borussia Dortmund.

But it's understood Emery is hungry to recruit a proven player who can out wide or in a central role.

  • Oh my! Omar won't come easy

Manchester City must do "something extraordinary" if they want to sign £50million-rated Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush this month, writes MARTIN BLACKBURN.

The Egyptian, 25, is the top target for Pep Guardiola as he looks to replace Julian Alvarez and provide some support for Erling Haaland.

However Eintracht are reluctant to sell their star players as they are going well in both their domestic league and the Europa League this season.

Crystal Palace are also interested in the midfielder, along with Jude’s former club Dortmund.

Although 19-year-old Jobe could cost up to £20m, Sunderland are determined to keep hold of their biggest asset as they look to maintain their Premier League promotion bid.

England star Jude joined Dortmund from Birmingham in a £30m deal in 2020.

And despite the major interest from English clubs in Jobe, it appears he could follow his sibling by looking to join a top European club to play more games at a higher level.

  • Kimmich rated possible Trent replacement

Liverpool are considering a shock swoop for Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, reports say.

Alexander-Arnold's current deal expires in the summer, with Real Madrid chasing the right-back.

As both parties wait on tender hooks, Liverpool are reportedly eager to be prepared in case Alexander-Arnold departs his boyhood club.

  • Done deal for Donn-dee

Nottingham Forest defender Aaron Donnelly has joined Dundee on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

The once-capped Northern Irishman, 21, shone on loan for the Scottish Premiership club last season.

    Credit: SNS

This term he's played 22 games in a temporary spell with League Two side Colchester.

Donnelly told the Dundee website: "I am absolutely delighted... As soon as I knew there was interest, it was a no-brainer to come back.

"My time here was excellent last season, really successful and I hope to pick up where I left off.

"There was a real connection with the fans and the players and I'm looking to repay them for the great support."

  • Utd 'chase 2 left-backs'

Ruben Amorim could sign TWO new left-backs.

Cerro Porteno's Diego Leon, who turns 18 in April, is expected to join this summer.

And PSG's Portugal ace Nuno Mendes, 22, is rated the main target in the current transfer window.

Mendes only has 18 months left on his contract, which could tempt the French champs into selling in January.

  • 'Contract sagas can dent Liverpool title bid'

Liverpool have been warned that contract talks over Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold could dent their title charge.

Star striker Salah has hinted it could be his last season at Anfield, skipper Van Dijk's future is uncertain and Real Madrid want Alexander-Arnold.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit told : "Liverpool have enough quality in their squad to go all the way, but their biggest problem is themselves.

The Egypt star, 25, has said he's happy with his Bundesliga club.

But Sky believe "discussions on the player's side are advanced" over a City switch.

    Credit: PA

Ex-Liverpool and Three Lions' midfielder Cole told : “It’s the right time for Marcus Rashford to move on. He’s been a wonderful player for Manchester United but he’s in a very, very difficult spell.

“It’s time for him to revitalise his career and I'd like to see him play in Italy, to be honest.

"The German league is great, but the Italian league is slightly stronger, and he could play for some great clubs.

"It’s the opposite situation to Trent Alexander-Arnold, in that if you’re Marcus, and need a change, you need to go in January.

“Manchester United have been very clear with where they want to go without him. Message heeded, go somewhere and go with fire in your belly."

  • Eagles in swoop for Lion

Crystal Palace have opened talks over a deal for Millwall's Romain Esse, writes JACK ROSSER.

The winger, 19, has been tracked by the Eagles for some time.
