Emmanuel Petit: Trent one of the 'worst in his position' off the ball
Ex-Premier League star Petit has criticised "lazy" Real Madrid target Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Speaking to , former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit said: "I've always had the same opinion on Trent Alexander-Arnold.
"He's a great player with technical ability, amazing passing and vision, but he's not a defender. He hates it.
"When you play in a team like Liverpool, they can handle that weakness, but they almost lost to Manchester United at Anfield because of him.
"The way Alexander-Arnold defended was horrible, he was so lazy for the Lisandro Martinez goal.
"I'm being harsh, but I'm not surprised about his ability to defend either.
"With the ball, Alexander-Arnold is the best in his position, without the ball, he's one of the worst. This game meant a lot, he knows that as he's from the city and Liverpool is in his DNA."
Amad 'close to extending contract'
Manchester United are expected to extend Amad Diallo's contract.
The wideman's current deal is due to end in the summer.

Teddy Sheringham believes Salah will leave Liverpool
Mohamed Salah is behaving as if his time at Liverpool is over, according to Man Utd legend Sherringham.
Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest , Sheringham said: "I think Salah is behaving as if he’s giving notice that he is gone at the end of the season.
"From what he has said in interviews I’ll be very very surprised if he turns around and signs a new contract now.
"But he's enjoying what he's doing for one last season, the way I see it is that it should just be enjoyed by both the player and the club to make the most of it.
"I think it’s the right time, football takes a toll on your body when you come up to the age of 33 and the demands of playing week in week out become much harder.
"He might fancy going over and playing in Saudi and becoming a hero and a legend over there.
"He could still win the next Ballon d’Or but that’ll all be down to what he wins."
Mainoo not concerned about Man Utd future

"Would Alexander Isak consider joining United if a bid came in? Without a doubt.
"I’m not saying a deal will get done but he would be the perfect signing for United.
"He can lead the line and score goals and could be a statement signing for the new regime. He is full of confidence at the moment and could lead by example."
Veiga interest

New Bhoy

Al-Nassr are keeping tabs on the Brazil international, who could reunite with fellow Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo if he moves to Riyadh.
Earn his Spurs
Ange Postecoglou dropped a big hint Tottenham will sign an attacker this month.
